About

Nestled in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, Peacock Preserve stands as a testament to time itself. This land, sculpted by ancient geological forces, boasts a unique tapestry of limestone hills and dramatic valleys found nowhere else on earth.

For millennia, these rolling landscapes have been home to those who recognized their rare beauty. Native American tribes – the Coahuiltecan, Kiowa, and Comanche – were the first to leave their mark, crafting tools from the abundant Edwards Chert limestone. In 1756, Spanish explorer Bernando de Miranda y Flores arrived, calling it “los balcones” – the balconies – after the iconic terrain.

Nearly two centuries later, a man named Bill Peacock searched for a home near Austin. Instead, he discovered something far greater—a 2,950-acre parcel he called Peacock Ranch, blessed with natural springs and untouched beauty, seemingly in a world of its own.

Today, we invite a new generation of visionaries to write the next chapter in the storied history of Peacock Preserve. Here, modern living harmoniously blends with a landscape that has captivated hearts for over 10,000 years. As you stand on this land, you will be more than a resident–you will be a steward of the land and its legacy.
